Fresnel is usable and under active development. There is no official release yet: get the sources from GitLab.

Try it live

Every demo below is a real Fresnel program, written in Object Pascal and compiled to WebAssembly with Free Pascal. Exactly the same source code also compiles to a normal, native program for Windows, Linux or macOS: the browser is just one of the places where Fresnel runs.

A demo is about 8 MB. The first start can take a few seconds.

Use Console output in the frame to see what the program writes with WriteLn. Opening a demo in its own tab: open in a new tab ↗

Good to know

  • The demos run in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is installed.
  • Keyboard and mouse work as in a desktop program. Click in the demo first, so it gets the keyboard focus.
  • Some things work differently in a browser. A browser page cannot start other programs, so the IDE demo cannot run the compiler. File dialogs show the files of a small file system that lives inside your browser, not the files on your disk.
  • Want to see the code? Every demo has a link to its source code on GitLab. How to build a program like this for the browser is explained in Platforms.
